” there is a burden of evidence to conquer there”
We have been perhaps not the common regarding the 5 individuals we spend time that is most with.
We are the typical regarding the 5 ideas we spend many time with.
And the ones ideas needn’t come from people inside our life.
In medical sectors, they joke as they sound) that you can append “. in mice” to almost any media headline about a new study that “discovered XYZ” (implying that some important steps are missing and things aren’t as simple.
In investing, the same would be to add “. that you’re telling others about for me” to whatever process or system you’ve found that works and. This might be for they have a different hardware (personality/brain wired differently) and different data on their hard-drives (different life experiences, knowledge base) because they likely can’t just run that software successfully,…
The vice versa applies when you learn about exactly what others did, you can mentally include “. for you” to it.
This doesn’t mean it can’t do the job.
Exactly that there exists a burden of proof to conquer here, and that you could need to modify it (recompile it after some tweaks?) so that it operates all on your own certain mind-hardware.
Nearly all my favorite finance/investing people tilt way more ‘collaborative’ than ‘competitive’ with peers (no body is 100% one or the other, but they tilt heavily that way).
I do not think it’s just that they are nicer; an advantage is got by them through the greater velocity of trade of some ideas, feedback, connections, resources they are able to ask, etc, therefore it’s shrewd too.
But irrespective of who benefits most, the win-win way of life is just more pleasurable to reside
Being wrong is not that bad when you yourself have a mind-set and a process that will lead you to eventually discover that you’re wrong, accept it, and correct it.
Being wrong is terrible you already believe, and care more about consistency than truth (ie if you are rigid about beliefs, actively look away from disconfirming evidence, only seek things that reinforce what. It’s an insult to politicians to be seen to improve their minds — “flip flopper!” — that’s bonkers plus it implies that they’re always right and not discover, a couple of things which can be incompatible).
Good talk by Alain De Botton (“Swiss-born British philosopher and author”), delivered to me personally by friend-of-the-show Laurence Endersen whenever speaking about what I composed in version #106 about empathy vs narcissism.
It’s a good companion to your classic talk by David Foster Wallance, “This is Water”.
I think it is quite insightful and I also suggest it (it’s just 8 mins):
Change: Also, hat tip to Lillian Li for giving me this video that is excellent self-esteem (not the same as usually the one above) once we had been discussing conscious life design and how to be pleased.
More life that is great, and possibly some revelations that could explain some material you or individuals in your area have been experiencing.
Yesterday we posted my first mini-podcast episode. I want to learn about podcasting, and I believe in learning by doing as I mentioned in edition #106.
I’m a big podcast listener as well as the structure seems complementary to writing/reading, so it may be a good tool to have in the toolbelt for future projects.
A lot of that which we dislike are only things we’re bad at — becoming better is often a option to better like it, as backwards as that sounds. Therefore I want to find out if I am able to enjoy it, or if it’s not for me personally.
We plan to compose a plain thing or two in what We learned on the production part for each mini-podcast.
I’ve already discovered some reasons for having sound modifying, concerning the need for the energy level/tone of your vocals (in the beginning you tend to only think about what you’re saying, perhaps not how you’re saying it), kinds of microphones, just how it is very easy to start thinking about the fact that you’re being recorded and that throws you down and you lose your train of idea, etc.
I’ve currently recorded episode number 2. It’s about a couple of spending principles that We find interesting. At this time, they are going out only to compensated supporters therefore I can learn publicly, although not too publicly.
