Azerbaijani-Georgian relations have “good prospects” and “a bright future” in all fields, Musa Gasimli, Azerbaijani MP, stated in a recent interview. Gasimli noted that the Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili making of one of her first foreign visits to Azerbaijan is of great importance.
Gasimli said that a large number of Azerbaijanis also live in Georgia. According to him, because of the neighborhood of the two countries, common interests unite them both.
“For Georgia, the territory of Azerbaijan is the most favorable gateway to the East, and so is Georgia a door to the West for Azerbaijan. Georgia’s participation in international projects founded and initiated by Azerbaijan contributed to solving many problems there,” Gasimli said.
The deputy also said that, just as in previous years, today there are countries and circles that want to spoil Azerbaijani-Georgian relations, but the leaders of the two neighboring countries will not allow this to happen.
“There exist a great potential and prospects for relations with Georgia – our strategic partner and neighbor – in all fields , we can say, – whether it be political-diplomatic, economic, energy, security, culture, humanitarian, information, etc. Our relations have a great future,” added the MP.
