Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit to discuss strategic military and economic alliances between the two nations. A guard of honor was arranged for the Georgian president at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport decorated with the national flags of the two countries. Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili was met by Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Nadir Huseynov and other officials.
According to the press office of the presidential administration, the goal of the visit is to continue and develop the strategic military and economic alliances with Azerbaijan as a neighboring state.
As a part of the visit, the President of Georgia will meet the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting will be held within face to face and extended formats. Salome Zurabishvili and Ilham Aliyev will present the details of the meeting at a joint press conference.
Salome Zurabishvili will hold meetings with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov and Chairman of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov.
She will also hold meetings with Georgian students and representatives of business circles.
